This year, IDEC started its first construction project using BIM. A 48,000m\u00b2 platform to disseminate and distribute pharmaceutical products for OCP in La Baule (Loiret department – 45).<\/p>\n

Before going further, it would be smart to clarify what BIM is, because it is often talked about today in our professions, but few know what it really is.<\/p>\n

BIM is not limited to the use of 3D modeling software (like REVIT or ARCHICAD). It is necessary to distinguish between the digital model, which is simply the 3D-modeling of the building, and BIM (Building Information Modeling), which integrates an informative dimension with this model.\u00a0The informative digital model allows the building operator to fine-tune his maintenance.<\/p>\n

This 3D modeling combined with immersive virtual reality, made possible by the software program REVIT and a pair of VR glasses, is an excellent decision-making aid for the client. The latter is thus immersed in his project and can visualize the volumetry and spaces much better than on a simple 2D plan.\u00a0The feedback we have received shows how effective this technology is.<\/p>\n

IDEC also uses its digital model as well as those created by its partner companies to create a synthesis report of all the technical batches.\u00a0This coordination allows IDEC to anticipate decisions and potential conflicts between the different technical batches, to the benefit of construction deadlines.<\/p>\n
