The extension built by IDEC will enable this logistics specialist to develop the capacity at its existing site.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reorganisation of the delivery business for GEODIS<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>GEODIS, a leading player in the logistics sector entrusted IDEC with the reorganisation of its delivery business based in Cesson-S\u00e9vign\u00e9. Their work had until now been shared between two sites a kilometre apart from each other. In order to simplify its organisation, the logistics firm wanted to reorganise the site it owns by creating an extension to suit its business requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Design and construction of a 5800 m\u00b2 extension<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>The teams at IDEC firstly took care of the demolition of part of the existing premises, including removing asbestos from the area. The workers then set about carrying out the construction work for the 5800 m\u00b2 extension. The project is based around a logistics area equipped with 87 loading bays fitted with dock levellers, as well as office space, a washroom and a building dedicated to maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Made available ahead of schedule<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>IDEC took care of the demolition, then the extension in less than ten months, respecting the initial schedule from the contract. With the premises made available ahead of schedule GEODIS was able to move in and work on the internal organisation with plenty of time before the premises were up and running.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A lasting relationship between GEODIS and IDEC<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>This latest project confirms the trust that GEODIS has in the IDEC teams. This project follows on from the fifteen buildings already completed for the delivery service and logistics expert over the past fifteen years, or in other words a total of around 220,000 m\u00b2.
