Anthony, Business Manager at IDEC, has worked on the design phase for the extension of an 18,500 m² logistics platform for ARGAN in Albon (26).He tells us about the project, on which the construction work has just begun.
Anthony joined IDEC in July 2013 as a Construction Economist and then moved on to his current position as Business Manager. “ARGAN had already obtained planning permission for the extension. So I was mainly involved in costing and tweaking the technical aspects with the client” explains Anthony.
ANOTHER COLLABORATION BETWEEN ARGAN AND IDEC
ARGAN, a French real estate company specializing in the development and letting of premium logistics platforms, selected IDEC for its expansion project. Anthony, who worked on the design phase, explains: “My role was to accompany ARGAN through the costing and technical studies right up to the signing of the contract”.
AN 18,500 M² EXTENSION
“We have already completed two cells for ARGAN in phase 1, which we delivered in 2019.Today, we are working with them to extend three cells on the same site” states Anthony. The project is organized around 18,000 m² of warehouse space, including three storage cells and 500 m² of office space.
A PROJECT FOCUSED ON ITS CARBON FOOTPRINT
“In an effort to improve the project’s carbon footprint, ARGAN asked us to work with them to eliminate the need for gas supplies and to install a Roof Top electric air-to-air heat pump heating system instead of a conventional gas-fired boiler” explains Anthony. With this installation, the entire project is aiming for BREEAM Very Good certification, and the building is designed to accommodate solar panels on the rooftop.
WORK STARTED A FEW DAYS AGO
“After allocating the main work packages, we handed the reins over to the construction team at the beginning of the week, who have already begun work on the site” says Anthony.
