IDEC, leader in the design and construction of turnkey projects involving logistics, industrial and service sector properties, is currently building France’s largest logistics project for CONFORAMA in Tournan-en-Brie (Seine-et-Marne). In this video you can discover how work is progressing on this exceptional 200,000 m² project, for which the first phase has just been handed over.
Delivery of the first phase: the challenge is met
IDEC has just handed over the keys to the first phase of France’s largest logistics project just eleven months after work began. Thanks to the hard work done by the teams, this exceptional challange has been met and on schedule, in spite of some particularly tough weather conditions during the winter. The first parts were made available in advance back in early July to allow the future occupant to install the rack systems in the units, the ground markings and the installation of the office furniture. The furniture retailer, CONFORAMA, intends to have the first phase of these eleven units up and running in the next few weeks.
Eleven months of building work
It took eleven months for the IDEC teams and their partners to erect this first 70,000 m² phase made up of eleven dry units, an office block and service areas. During the same period, all of the roofing for the second and third phases covering 200,000 m² was completed, which is an exceptional performance.
Work continuing until April 2019
At the same time as the handover of this first phase, work is continuing on the other units. The roofing is now complete on all of the building with 80% of the flooring in place. Work on the second office block is well advanced with the interiors being worked on, while the third block is just rising above the ground with the framework being set up, cladding going on and the woodwork and indoor flooring being put in place. The next handover is scheduled for February with the completion of 50,000 m² and an extra office block. The final handover of the keys to this project is planned for early April 2019.
Meeting with Tony MORAIS, Managing Director of IDEC
The unique character of this project required all the men and women to be fully involved to ensure its success. We spoke to Tony MORAIS, Managing Director of IDEC, who talked about the handover of the first phase at this project for France’s largest logistics warehouse, which has been built by his teams.
“The first handover for France’s largest logistics project confirms our ability to take up such a challenge and respect the deadlines and satisfy our clients, ARGAN/GAZELEY and CONFORAMA, by respecting our promises. The fact that everyone in the IDEC company worked so hard was the key to the success of this project.”
