FAUBOURG PROMOTION and IDEC are working with LIDL on the design and turnkey construction of a logistics platform for dry, fresh and frozen products in Ablis (78), after completing a bespoke layout for access to this new 23-hectare zone. This 90,000 m² project will feature a total of fifteen dry and cold cells with temperatures ranging from -24 to +14 degrees Celsius.Work on this project began at the end of January 2022, and the first column of the concrete structure has just been erected.Final delivery is slated for July 2024.
ANOTHER COLLABORATION BETWEEN LIDL AND GROUPE IDEC
LIDL, a retail specialist boasting more than 1,580 supermarkets nationwide, has once again placed its trust in GROUPE IDEC and its subsidiaries to build its largest logistics project in France. A well-managed site in Ablis, perfectly suited to LIDL’s ideal barycenter, a turnkey solution including design and construction, and additional high value-added services, were all factors that spurred the signing of this project, which marks a new milestone in the development of GROUPE IDEC.
A FAUBOURG PROMOTION / SEBAIL 78 DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
After carrying out environmental studies that included the impacts on natural habitats and biodiversity, FAUBOURG PROMOTION / SEBAIL 78 implemented agricultural compensation and specific measures such as the creation of an ecological corridor to provide a sustainable environment for flora and fauna. Then, to serve this new area, FAUBOURG PROMOTION / SEBAIL 78 designed and built a roundabout on the half interchange of the RN10, which is a main road with very heavy LV/HV traffic, thus providing the site with high-quality road and motorway access (direct A11 corridor).
A 90,000 M² PROJECT
This new multi-temperature warehouse will store dry, fresh and frozen products in fifteen cells covering almost 90,000 m². It will be built around 52,000 m² of dry warehousing, 33,000 m² for the storage of fresh produce in negative cold down to -24 degrees, as well as in positive cold, and 5,000 m² of office space. The building will host 164 loading bays, a parking area, and ancillary buildings including a security post, a delivery post, a generator room and a sprinkler room.
AN ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
The project focuses on a stringent energy approach, with a rooftop solar photovoltaic system on part of the building, which will generate its own electricity, as well as shade structures on the parking area. The heat produced by the cold room will be recovered to heat the cells and offices, which will be provided by underfloor heating in the cells. The entire project is aiming for BREEAM Very Good certification.
THE FIRST COLUMN HAS JUST BEEN ERECTED
The teams at IDEC began work on this large-scale warehouse at the end of January 2022. After a major earthworks phase, which will be completed in a few days’ time, the structural work began in April, with rigid inserts already completed. The teams are finishing off the roadworks and surface treatments. The concrete frame work began with the installation of the first column on June 20. Roofing is scheduled to start in July. The warehouse will be handed over as work progresses, starting in autumn 2023. Final delivery is slated for summer 2024.
