IDEC continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainable construction with the achievement of two major environmental certifications for the 43,000 sq m logistics platform delivered to PROLOGIS in Douvrin, northern France.
The project has been awarded BREEAM Excellent certification as well as the BIODIVERCITY Performance label, recognising its high environmental standards and strong commitment to biodiversity enhancement.
DOUBLE ENVIRONMENTAL RECOGNITION FOR THE PROLOGIS DC3 PROJECT
The 43,000 sq m logistics facility delivered by IDEC for PROLOGIS in Douvrin has successfully achieved both BREEAM Excellent certification and the BIODIVERCITY Performance label.
To meet the requirements of these demanding environmental benchmarks, the project incorporates a range of sustainable features, including photovoltaic panels installed on five of the seven warehouse units, a heat pump system designed to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and an optimised rainwater management strategy.
These solutions contribute to improved energy efficiency, reduced environmental impact and enhanced operational performance.
LANDSCAPING DESIGNED TO SUPPORT BIODIVERSITY
Particular attention was given to landscape design and ecological integration throughout the development.
The project includes the creation of wetlands and dedicated habitats designed to support a variety of animal species, helping to preserve and enhance local biodiversity.
These initiatives demonstrate IDEC’s commitment to delivering projects that combine operational excellence with environmental responsibility.
