IDEC, leader in the design and construction of turnkey projects involving industrial, logistics and service sector properties, has just handed over the keys to a new operation for the POMONA Group in Noyal-sur-Vilaine (Ille et Vilaine). This 7100 m² project marks another successful collaboration between the specialist in the distribution of food products and IDEC.
Another project carried out by POMONA with IDEC
TERRE AZUR, the branch of the POMONA Group, a company specialising in the distribution of fruit, and vegetables and seafood for those involved in the catering sector, once again renewed its confidence in the teams at IDEC to build its logistics project in Noyal-sur-Vilaine. This latest project follows on from the successful collaboration between the two parties with the delivery of a 7500 m² warehouse in Rezé last year and a 17,000 m² logistics platform in Wissous in 2016.
Designed and built by IDEC
IDEC worked alongside POMONA from the start of the project enabling it to come up with a design to match the requirements. The fact that they are used to working together clearly paid off, as did the IDEC team’s design unit’s ability to come up with a made to measure solution to meet all the challenges posed by its client’s business. A lot of work was done on the refrigeration necessary to store food at a controlled temperature, and on the special surfaces required to ensure a long life given the salinity of the seafood.
A 7100 m² project
This 7100 m² project is now home to TERRE AZUR, one of the subsidiaries of the POMONA Group. In order to satisfy the requirements of its business, the firm can now count on 1400 m² of office space to house the administrative posts. The area dedicated to storage is based around 2400 m² for fruit and vegetables, 800 m² for seafood, 1800 m² for the reception and dispatch of food and 700 m² for the service areas, charging area and refrigeration generators. A fuel station and truck washing area for HGVs were also set up in this project.
Eight months of work
It took eight months between when digging started and the handover of this project. The site managers and engineers at IDEC in charge of the construction of this controlled temperature platform worked hard to ensure that deadlines were met.
