IDEC has officially launched the construction of an extension to an existing logistics platform located in Vennecy, in the Loiret department of France. Developed by AREFIM and operated by DERET, the logistics and transport subsidiary of GROUPE DERET, this new 30,000 sq m project will support the continued growth of logistics activities on this strategic site. Combining advanced technical features, stringent regulatory requirements and strong environmental ambitions, the development is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026.
AN EXTENSION TO SUPPORT DERET’S GROWTH
The project is being developed by AREFIM, with the support of ACCIL, A26 and B27, specialists in the development of responsible and innovative logistics parks. The extension is part of a site already operated by DERET, a major player in the French logistics sector. This new investment aims to strengthen the Group’s operational capacities in order to support its customers from a wide range of fast-growing sectors.

A 30,000 sq m development with advanced technical features
The project involves the extension of an existing building through the creation of seven new logistics units of 3,500 sq m each. These facilities will include two preparation areas totalling 5,500 sq m, an 828 sq m cold storage room and a 535 sq m refrigerated preparation area. These storage spaces will also incorporate additional units designed to accommodate future cold storage rooms.
A strong environmental approach
The project stands out for its environmental ambitions. A 14,000 sq m photovoltaic power plant will be installed on the roofs of four warehouse units and developed by ENR Solar by GROUPE IDEC. Heating and cooling of the spaces will be provided by rooftop units. Two certifications are being targeted: BREEAM Very Good and BIODIVERCITY Performance, led by the Group’s in-house certification teams. Numerous additional measures will support this sustainable approach, including the installation of amphibian protection barriers around the construction site, the selection of responsible materials, waste sorting, consumption monitoring and awareness campaigns to encourage eco-friendly practices among site workers.
