LIDL, the leading supermarket chain, has taken possession of its new-generation logistics platform in Carquefou (44), a first in Europe thanks to the successful design and construction work carried out by the IDEC teams. This 53,000 m² project, featuring BREEAM Very Good certification and a solar power system, is already up and running on the outskirts of Nantes.
ANOTHER COLLABORATION BETWEEN LIDL & IDEC
LIDL, the supermarket chain with over 1,550 stores in France, has once again called on IDEC’s experience in developing technical logistics projects to build its new project in Carquefou. This operation, which was handed over in recent weeks, is the latest in a series of joint projects, primarily in northern France. It also coincides with the ongoing construction of a 26,000 m² project in Chanteloup-les-Vignes (78).
A NEW-GENERATION PROJECT
This new multi-temperature logistics platform, spanning 53,000 m², is the company’s showcase, and complies with the highest European standards. In particular, it aims to handle a large part of its logistics business in Western France, with an extensive storage area for food and non-food products. The building also includes a 3,000 m² office block to accommodate LIDL’s new regional headquarters.
A CERTIFIED TECHNICAL OPERATION
The IDEC teams worked tirelessly every day to successfully complete this project, which was partly interrupted by the numerous lockdowns associated with COVID-19. It has been up and running for just a few weeks, and benefits from a highly committed environmental and energy approach. It has been awarded BREEAM Level Very Good certification, attesting to the efforts made to limit its impact on the environment. The project is completed by a solar power system with shade structures on the parking area for light vehicles.
