IDEC, leader in the design and construction of turnkey projects involving logistics, industrial and service sector properties has once again stood out in the field of constructing sustainable buildings with a special award for one of its projects for INTERMARCHE in Bourges. The 70,000 m² tri-temperature warehouse has obtained the Sustainable Building Award from the certifying body, the CERTIVEA, naming it France’s most efficient logistics building.
The Sustainable Building Award
CERTIVEA, a subsidiary of the Scientific and Technical Centre for Buildings (CSTB) is the official body awarding the environmental label for all sorts of buildings (logistics, offices, sports facilities…). For the second year, the body brought together all those involved in property to present the Sustainable Building Award rewarding buildings, which have really stood out. The logistics platform built by IDEC for INTERMARCHE in Bourges was awarded the top prize in its category, underlining the hard work done on the design and construction of this building, which saves energy and offers a healthy and comfortable environment to its users.
A 701,000 m² tri-temperature warehouse
The project honoured by CERTIVEA built by IDEC for INTERMARCHE in Bourges has some impressive characteristics, starting with the 70,000 m² dedicated to dealing with part of the logistics business of the brand. In spite of its size, this project includes a number of measures to limit the consumption of electricity and water, reducing its environmental impact and halping the staff feel good.
Exceptional level environmental certification
This logistics warehouse with exceptional level environmental certification stands out with 14 high performance targets. The environmentally friendly construction techniques and management plan and the comfort and health of the occupants were all taken into account. The building was awarded three stars out of four in the energy segment and four out of four in the areas of health, the environment and comfort.
More than 1.2 million m² built and certified
The prize awarded to this logistics project stresses once again how IDEC masters the technology to help its clients build sustainable buildings. This project follows on from more than 1.2 million m² built and certified by its teams for its clients throughout France. It comes in addition to the exceptional level environmental certification for another project for INTERMARCHE in Grand Fougeray (Ille-et-Vilaine) covering 53,000 m², which is equally efficient.
