IDEC, leader in the design and construction of turnkey projects involving logistics, industrial and service sector properties, is in charge of building a 28,000 m² delivery warehouse for the LA POSTE Group developed by PROLOGIS. The symbolic ceremony for the laying of the first stone brought together all those involved in the project in Douvrin (Pas-de-Calais).
Laying the first symbolic stone
PROLOGIS, developer of logistics property and the LA POSTE Group organised the laying of the first stone for a 28,000 m² delivery warehouse currently being built by IDEC. This symbolic event brought together all those involved in the project for a friendly event. This 350 m long building, which aims to obtain Excellent BREEAM certification, will enable the postal service operator to grow its business around the thriving e-commerce sector.
A project built using BIM and certified Excellent BREEAM standard
From the start of work, IDEC relied on its BIM specialists to come up with a digital model as the basis for the construction of this delivery warehouse and to make it easier for the future occupant to install equipment.
Already three months of work
Work actually began on this project last June. The building has already adopted its definitive shape with the structure and roofing practically finished. The flooring is currently being laid and the office block is being erected with patios. Work has already begun on the landscaping around the buildings with the first layer of tarmac going on. The IDEC work teams are working hard to ensure that the storage hall can be made available early some time in December to allow the equipment to be installed. The final completion date is scheduled for March 2019. The LA POSTE Group will have these new facilities up and running in mid-November 2019.
