IDEC, leader in the design and construction of turnkey projects involving logistics, industrial and service sector properties, will be working with Prologis, the leader in logistics premises, on the construction of a new delivery service in Douvrin (Pas-de-Calais). This 28,000 m² project, which aims to receive an Excellent BREEAM rating, will be home to the LA POSTE Group after ten months of work.
Start of work
This latest 28,000 m² operation developed by the logistics property specialist, will house the LA POSTE Group. The project, the construction of which has been awarded to IDEC, will stretch out over a length of around 350 metres and will include 135 loading bays to meet the requirements of the future occupant. It will also include 2500 m² of office space for the administrative services.
Project developed by IDEC with BIM
The BIM experts at IDEC will be in charge of building this delivery service with the help of a digital model. This work will help confirm the client’s choices concerning the installation of the facilities run by the future occupant and it will also be used as the basis for the work carried out by the IDEC teams in charge of building this project. Thanks to BIM, the maintenance of the building will also be made easier with all of the data accessible via the 3D model. IDEC will be taking care of this work for a year with its special after sales maintenance and upkeep contract.
Excellent level BREEAM certification
Thanks to all its expertise in the construction of sustainable buildings, IDEC has studied this project with the aim of obtaining Excellent level BREEAM environmental certification. To achieve this, concrete measures will be put in place, such as a suitable configuration of the available space, the use of sustainable materials, the installation of a rainwater retention basin to supply water to the toilets and the fitting of solar panels to produce hot water.
Being made available ahead of schedule
Work has just begun on this new construction. It will take ten months to erect this 28,000 m² delivery service. IDEC will make all of the buildings available to the client three months before the official handover to make it easier for them to install the equipment and in particular the sorting machines.
