IDEC, leader in the design and construction of turnkey projects involving logistics, industrial and service sector properties, has just started work on anew project with FAUBOURG PROMOTION, the planner and developer in the IDEC GROUP. This logistics project, which covers 36,000 m² will become home to ADEO, one of the leaders in the sale of consumer DIY and decoration products.
IDEC and FAUBOURG PROMOTION working together on the same project
The two subsidiaries of the IDEC GROUP, FAUBOURG PROMOTION and IDEC have once again united their teams to work with ADEO on the construction of new logistics facilities in the south of France. This firm, which belongs to the MULLIEZ family, includes brands such as LEROY MERLIN, WELDOM and BRICOMAN, entrusted the pair with the development, design and construction of two warehouses covering 128,000 m².
A 36,000 m² dry warehouse
The construction of the first of the two buildings in this project started a few days ago with the first sods being dug. This warehouse, which stretches out over 36,000 m² offering six dry units, a two-storey office block measuring around 800 m², a charging area and sentry post. Three units will be made available in advance in November to allow the installation of storage racks. The final handover by the IDEC teams is scheduled for January 2020, in other words two months after the handover of the 43,000 sq.m XPO Logistics building a few metres away.
A second 92,000 m² project scheduled for 2020
The second warehouse in this operation will be erected in the first quarter of 2020. It will be based around 15 dry units. Three office blocks are planned to house the firm’s administrative services. The construction of this project will be divided up into several phases, in order to adapt to the requirements of the future occupants, ADEO.
A strong environmental approach
Thanks to their know-how in the construction of sustainable buildings, IDEC favours once again a virtuous approach to this operation. It is planned that the project will be awarded BREEAM Good Standard certification, thanks to the application of several measures to limit the impact of these two buildings on the environment. Solar panels wil cover all of the roofs of these two buildings, allowing savings of the equivalent of half of the electrical consumption of the population of the town of Fos-sur-Mer. Photovoltaic panels will also cover the car parks.
