The high-bay logistics platform delivered by IDEC and developed by EFY INVEST on behalf of SUNTORY, located near Orléans, has just achieved BREEAM Very Good certification. This distinction highlights the commitment of all stakeholders to developing the project within a sustainable approach by integrating innovative solutions aimed at limiting its environmental impact.
A building designed for energy performance
This nearly 21,000 sq m logistics platform, developed by EFY INVEST and constructed by IDEC, stands out for its innovative approach to energy performance. To achieve the BREEAM Very Good certification level, several initiatives were implemented, including a water consumption optimisation system, intelligent lighting management using daylight sensors, and the installation of photovoltaic panels.
A highly technical project featuring a high-bay automated storage and retrieval system
This logistics platform is based on an advanced technical design, notably through the integration of a 27-metre-high automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS), ensuring automated and optimised stock management. This equipment maximises storage efficiency while limiting the project’s land footprint. The facility also includes a two-level shipping and storage area, as well as a direct connection to the production plant through a 900 sq m elevated walkway.
A project integrating environmental considerations
From the design phase onwards, particular attention was paid to biodiversity preservation and carbon footprint reduction. An ecologist supported the project throughout its development to ensure the protection of local fauna and flora. In addition, several measures were implemented to encourage alternative modes of transport, including electric vehicle charging stations, cycling facilities and initiatives promoting carpooling.
