IDEC has completed the construction of a 27,000 sq m logistics platform located in Pléchâtel, in the Ille-et-Vilaine department, on behalf of GARBE INDUSTRIAL REAL ESTATE FRANCE. Launched in November 2024, this turnkey project was officially handed over on 7 October.
A major project in France for GARBE INDUSTRIAL REAL ESTATE
GARBE INDUSTRIAL REAL ESTATE, a European specialist in logistics and industrial real estate, selected IDEC to deliver its new logistics platform in France.
This project marks a strategic milestone in GARBE’s development and demonstrates its confidence in IDEC’s expertise to support its growth within the French market.
A flexible building tailored to users’ needs
Located in Pléchâtel, the platform is organised around four warehouse units, offering a high level of flexibility.
Thanks to its divisible design, the building can be occupied by a single company or shared by several users depending on operational requirements. This flexibility optimises the use of available space while adapting to the future growth and changing needs of tenants.
A project requiring significant resources
The construction works required substantial resources: more than 4,800 m³ of concrete were poured, 5,000 linear metres of cables were installed and 600 columns were erected.
The teams also installed 3,000 metres of fencing, 1,435 metres of kerbs and laid 2,120 tonnes of external surfacing.
To improve safety within circulation areas, 32 wheel guides were installed.
At the peak of construction activity, up to 70 workers were operating simultaneously on site to ensure compliance with the project schedule and quality standards.
An exemplary environmental approach
The building is targeting BREEAM Excellent certification and incorporates several sustainable features.
The roof will be entirely equipped with photovoltaic panels installed by GROUPE IDEC ENR Solar. A heat pump system also contributes to the thermal efficiency of the facility.
More than 12,000 sq m of landscaped green spaces have been created around the platform, including the planting of 65 trees and the installation of 12 habitats for local wildlife, helping to promote biodiversity.
The selection of sustainable materials and particular attention to indoor air quality were also key priorities in order to provide a healthy environment for future occupants.
