URGO, a prestigious pharmaceutical group, has enlisted the support of IDEC’s teams to build a new storage platform in Ouges, which began construction a few weeks ago.
URGO, a world-class pharmaceutical laboratory
French pharmaceutical laboratory URGO is a leading player in the medical treatment of wounds and mass market healthcare. To sustain its growth, the company has commissioned IDEC to design and build a new platform to handle its “mass market” logistics activities just outside Dijon.
A 16,400 m² project
This “By IDEC” project, designed in collaboration with URGO’s project teams, will provide 15,100 m² of storage space. It will be structured around two temperature-controlled cells, and will also include an office area and a security post with an additional surface area of around 850 m².
Delivery scheduled for the second half of 2023
Since the end of September, IDEC’s Civil Engineering teams have been monitoring the construction of this logistics project. Work will continue for several months, with handover scheduled for September 2023. One of the special features of this project is that it will incorporate a geothermal solution with 37 boreholes at a depth of 150 meters. The building will also benefit from reinforced thermal insulation. As a result, energy savings will be achieved during the operating phase, while at the same time reducing the building’s carbon footprint.
