IDEC, a leading player in the design and construction of logistics platforms and all sorts of commercial property, has just delivered a multi-temperature warehouse to the POMONA group in Rezé (Loire Atlantique). This project is home to TERRE AZUR, the Group’s subsidiary, which specialises in fruit and vegetables and seafood.
The POMONA Group, a food wholesaler for the trade sector, and more specifically its subsidiary, TERRE AZUR, has just moved in to a new 7500 m² building including 1500 m² of office space. This project has been set up close to the food processing park at the future MIN in Nantes, which will be up and running by the end of 2018 in Rezé.
A project that took seven months
The POMONA Group entrusted IDEC with this project, which took just seven months from the preparatory phase to the handover. This building is based around two adjoining units and shared loading bays. The warehouse dedicated to seafood benefits from a specific handling area with a 1000 m² seafood zone with stainless steel equipment, a store for shellfish with a controlled temperature of 10°C and a 90 m² seawater tank with natural filtration system.
The warehouse dedicated to fruit and vegetable benefits from its own storage area with 1200 spaces divided into two parts to respect the properties of the various produce that is stored here (780 m² between 8 and 10°C and 1250 m² between 2 and 4°C). The project also includes two 40 m² ripening chambers.
“This type of project is very interesting, as it includes several different areas with different temperatures according to the produce,” explained Tony MORAIS, General Director of IDEC. “The specifications laid down by our client POMONA in the specifications enabled us to deal with all the details involved in this operation and to hand over a project that pleased everyone.”
A lasting relationship between the POMONA Group and IDEC
The construction of this multi-temperature warehouse fits in with the relationship of trust established between the POMONA Group and the IDEC teams. This project follows on from the delivery in late 2016 of two warehouses, one measuring 17,000 m² in Wissous (Essonne) and another measuring 5200 m² in Valenton (Val de Marne).
