IDEC, leader in the design and construction of turnkey projects involving industrial, logistics and service sector properties, has just completed the construction of a truck maintenance hub for STAF in Berre l’Etang (Bouches du Rhône). The handover of this project is another successful collaboration between IDEC and the refrigerated food transport specialist.
STAF, a loyal client
STAF, a family business specialising for almost 40 years in refrigerated food transport, works alongside major retail outlets on their logistics business. With a fleet comprising around 750 HGVs, STAF has positioned itself today as a reference player in the supply of frozen food, fruit, vegetables and seafood. To cope with the development of its business, the firm once again turned towards IDEC to build its new facilities, a few years after they successfully first worked together on the construction of STAF’s headquarters and an 8000 m² workshop in Villeneuve le Roi (Val de Marne).
3000 m² to deal with STAF’s logistics business
This latest project, which was handed over late last year, aims to complete STAF’s national network to satisfy even more its clients. The project carried out by IDEC is based around five buildings, including a mechanics workshop with four ramps, a charging area, a truck wash for HGVs, an office block, a home for the caretaker, a storage area, a fuel station and a parking area with 100 spaces.
Working with IDEC from start to finish
The IDEC teams worked with their client from the birth of the project. The in-house design team and architect worked closely with STAF to build a tailor-made project best suited to its organisational requirements. IDEC showed they were able to respond quickly and were able to adapt perfectly to satisfy requests made during the development of the project, both in the design and construction phases.
A third project being built in Mitry-Mory
At the same time as the project in Berre l’Etang for STAF, the IDEC work teams have been running a building project for another operation in Mitry-Mory (Seine-et-Marne) near Paris. Work started on this project, which is also being designed and built by IDEC, a few months ago. It stretches out over 6500 m² and will offer offices, an HGV workshop and a cold storage unit. It is due to be delivered in April.
