COMET chose IDEC to build a 10,000 m² dry storage warehouse in Marigny-les-Usages (45). To mark the handover of this project, Thomas, Senior Project Engineer, retraces the success of this first venture, which we hope will be the cornerstone of a long partnership between IDEC and COMET.
Thomas joined us as a Project Engineer in March 2018 and was promoted to Senior Project Engineer in January 2022. “For this first project with COMET (GROUPE POMAC DEVELOPPEMENT), I was in charge of synthesizing the companies and studies, as well as overseeing the construction site and providing customer support right through to final delivery”.
COLLABORATION BETWEEN COMET AND IDEC
COMET is a company that specializes in the distribution of plumbing equipment for businesses and private individuals. With 13 stores in central France, the company offers its customers comprehensive support for their bathroom, tiling, heating, tools and electrical projects. “This is the first project we’ve done for COMET. Working with them proved to be a great success, and they were highly committed to the project and very attentive to our needs” explains Thomas.
A FIRST PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH IDEC ENERGY
The building, with a floor area of around 10,000 m², comprises a single 9,000 m² dry storage cell, a 3-storey, 600 m² office block and 9 loading bays. In conjunction with IDEC, IDEC ENERGY offered COMET a comprehensive package, including the installation of a rooftop solar power system. “The entire roof is covered with solar panels. IDEC ENERGY has signed an emphyteutic lease with COMET, under which it will operate the roof for 30 years” explains Thomas. GROUPE IDEC’s subsidiary specializing in innovative and sustainable energy solutions, operates the photovoltaic power plant, with all production fed back into the ENEDIS electricity grid.
DELIVERY AFTER 9 MONTHS OF WORK
The teams at IDEC began work on this project in June 2021. “To retrace the steps, the structural work began in mid-July, followed by the concrete columns at the end of August, and the timber frame in September. We started cladding in October and laid the slabs in November” explains Thomas. The warehouse was handed over in December so that the client could install its racks and IDEC ENERGY could start work on installing the photovoltaic panels. The complete building was handed over at the beginning of March.
