FAUBOURG PROMOTION, in a joint development programme with Group Life, started work on 24th April on the first phase of work at the Euro Méditerranée Park in Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches du Rhône) with the construction of a dry warehouse with a total surface of 43,000 square metres for XPO LOGISTICS. The construction of the project was entrusted to IDEC, another subsidiary of the IDEC Group, which is well known as the designer – builder of turnkey business units for the logistics sector.
XPO Logistics, a leading player in the supply chain, was looking for a solution with a short delivery deadline and in a specific location to enable them to deal with logistics for ELECTRO DEPOT, a company, which distributes electrical goods and multimedia products in Southern Europe.
The developers of the Euro Méditerranée Park, FAUBOURG PROMOTION and GROUP LIFE offered XPO a perfect location to make it easier to develop their business close to the port and major roads to the south of France, Italy and Spain. With planning permission and commercial use certificates already in place, they were able to promise to respect the short deadline, required for this project.
The warehouse includes 7 units over a total surface area of 43,000 m² with the possibility of an extension (cold or dry). An application will be made for the building to receive Breeam certification, allowing cost reductions during its use and a long-lasting building.
