IDEC has just obtained excellent level BREEAM certification (Very Good was planned initially in the contract) for Europe’s largest logistics project built by its teams near Paris with GAZELEY and ARGAN. This is a first for a 200,000 m² project and a score that has never before been achieved in France of 79.2%.
For the first time in France
Europe’s largest logistics project built by IDEC and developed with GAZELEY and ARGAN in Tournan-en-Brie, which was delivered in the first half of 2019 has just obtained BREEAM Excellent level certification. This rewards the design and construction work done to build a sustainable project, limiting energy consumption and its impact on the environment. With a score of 79.2%, IDEC has achieved something remarkable obtaining the best score for a project of this size in France and more generally in Europe.
Innovative solutions
The R&D teams at IDEC and their heat experts, environmental engineers, environmental protection, certification and energy specialists worked with their partner ARP Astrance throughout this exceptional project coming up with innovative solutions to aim for a high level of certification. Sustainable materials, improved insulation, intelligent lighting, measures to limit water and electricity consumption, energy monitoring and the improvement of the air quality inside the building and the acoustics were all taken into account during the early stages of the development. A lot of hard work was done on the construction to ensure high standards of work, respect and improvement of biodiversity, recycling materials and limiting harmful effects on the neighbouring environment.
Sustainable construction
Throughout the construction of this 200,000m² warehouse, the teams from IDEC in charge of monitoring certification worked to ensure the various criteria were respected. A set of measures to improve work conditions and the safety of the builders at the site was put in place by the Quality, safety and environmental unit for all the work managed by IDEC.
Already almost 2 million m² of certified property
With this latest project with BREEAM Excellent level certification, IDEC has asserted itself as leader in the construction of sustainable buildings with almost 2 million m² certified already for its clients. IDEC stands out too by obtaining the top labels with 270,000 m² of property certified BREEAM Excellent level, 170,000 m² of projects certified Exceptional Environmental standard (HQE) and two projects awarded the Biodivercity Label in the past few months.
